During the 2023 summer break I got together all my materials to make an Affordable Therapy Service application.

ATS Contract

This was the contract between me and WPI to be on the ATS.

These were based on the contract and GDPR notice that I constructed in my Year 1 Ethics Essay, but with the amendments suggested by my marker. Although this was the contract I started with, I have modified it as time goes by based on experience with New Pathways, guidance from supervisors, and my own experience/growing knowledge of the boundaries I wish to hold in relation to my clients.

Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS check)

Having applied for the certificate, I opted for the automatic renewal service, so that if I have placements they can refer to the ‘live’ application, rather than having to make a DBS application for each placement.

This was to give a sense of the place I would be using. Aardvard in Carmarthen has a room that it lets out for other therapies. It is located in the centre of town. People entering/leaving for psychotherapy could be going there for other reasons. This can help clients hide the fact that they are going to psychotherapy, if someone sees them as asks ‘why were you going in there?’.
